Hi All looking for some suggestions here please ,
We yesterday started getting weird hardware errors with one of our ESXi Host its a Dell R820.. We were not getting any errors on from the server on our management side Just in vCenter, We rebooted the Esxi host to see if it would clear and now are getting a host not compliant error.
I have tried rebooting again but the issue still persists I have tried to extract the host profile and restored from the reference host's host profile
restarted the management agents and still showing non compliant .server esxi 5.5 U2
Could anyone help please
Cheers in advance
Have you checked what in host profile is not complaint and tried resolve ? Try apply the host profile and check if the host go to complaint status.
Hi Ricardson ,
Sorry for the late reply it seemed this was a known issue with the version of Esxi version
A reboot of an ESXi host lists the Native Multipathing Plugin (NMP) device information in an arbitrary order. Because the Host Profile compliance checker requires the device order to be sorted, the compliance check fails on hosts with such configuration and results in compliance error
if I was on version 5.1 my work around would be to turn off NMP and PSA checking.
but with 5.5 to workaround this issue, perform the following steps:
1.Extract a host profile from the reference host. For example, ESXi 5.5 Update 2.
2.Upgrade the reference host to ESXi 5.5 patch, ESXi550-201410001.
3.Check compliance. Ignore any compliance failures that occur.
4.Remediate (apply) the host profile so the state of the ESXi host is restored from the reference host's host profile.
5.Extract a new host profile from the upgraded host and apply it to that host. Use this new host profile as the
reference host profile.
6.Check compliance no failure
Cheers for all of your help much appreciated
