vcenter 5.1u1 to update 3 installation

​Hi Guys,

I want to update the update the vcenter patch from vcenter update 1 to update 3. I have downloaded vcenter 5.1u3 iso and when i trying to install the same its giving error updated version already installed.

do we need update the very component of vcenter

Hello Hemant,

vCenter comprises of SSO, Web Client, Inventory Service. vCenter. While upgrading to 5.1 U3, it's best to upgrade all these components, so you can be on a n even release.

Now, for which component is it giving already upgraded message?

Your upgrade goes in the order SSO > WC > IS > vCenter
