I am trying to setup SFTP backup for vcsa appliance but keep getting error about not able to create directory on server
the path i have is
sftp://backupserver.domain.local/svc-backups/vcsa
any idea?
Please see whether https://www.cybersylum.com/2022/08/15/vcenter-server-backup-failed-to-create-backup-directory-on-bac... helps.

Since this is a domain joined target, have you validated that the account being used had the necessary permissions on the target all the way down to the target folder? The error seems to be a permissions issue. So, either a domain account needs to be used that has the appropriate permissions or a local account with needed permissions.
i have a stp account on the destination server that i confirm working using sftp command from the vcsa appliance. but i cannot get it working from the VAMI
I use SFTP with no issues. My SFTP server is built in Ubuntu 22.
My connection string from the VCSA looks like : sftp://sftp.domain.local/vcenter-dr
What type of SFTP server are you using?
my server is RHEL 7.9. I have sftp account that i can login and write
the path on my box is
/export/content/backups/svc-sftp/vc-backups/vcentername
