Migrate Org VDCs backing from NSX-V to NSX-T

Hi - I've a few ORG VDCs using NSX-V backing and some newer ones using NSX-T backing. The NSX-V Orgs all use external networks, distributed port groups consumed directly, there are NO NSX-V elements used - vxlan/edge/firewall/lb etc.

How do I change their backing to NSX-T so I can remove the NSX-V manager via an API call? Do I have to use the NSX Migration Tool for Cloud Director or is there an easier way? Thanks.

Yes, we need a new PVDC with NSX-T mapping. That's why I said in the first thread to ensure PVDC and vSphere design is aligned.

You can move the vapp/vm from VDC(NSX-V) to VDC(NSX-T), and ensure PVDC, VDC, and vSphere design requirements are met for the ease of workload movement.

Understood - but How? The vCloud migration tool, within the VCD console somehow, API call or other method? That's what I'm not clear about. Thanks!

You can do it within VCD Console, right-click on vapp/vm, and perform a move/copy option.

Ahaa! Thanks!

Last question - Do I need to recreate a new Provider VDC with a configured NSX-T Manager then to hold the new Org VDCs and move the vAPPs into these Orgs to change that NSX-V backing to an NSX-T one? Or is that overkill?
