vCD 5.5 vAPP and FT support

Hi,

I have a 1vCPU mission critical server which has a simple task of certificate management for over 20,000 external clients and is critical to business operations. The server

is hosted as a vAPP on vCloud 5.5 / vSphere 5.5. What i am trying to find out is can I enable FT and is it supported for vAPP's running in vCD. I have trolled everywhere

and cant find the answer any help would be greatly apprecited.

Rgds

If the vApp managed by vCD, answer is NO, you can't turn the FT on.

Hi Mark,

FT is an vCenter feature than an vCD

For mission critical app's, I would recommend to go ahead and create vCenter vM"s and enable FT/SRM.

Thanks for the replies, agree, after further testing I discovered that FT want to change the reservations [memory] on the FT pri/sec and vCD doesn't like it as it also tries

to set limits based on the oRGvDC settings. I have gone with placing the VM in at the vCentre layer only.
