It's know to work. But it's not supported.

Sorry, I have to say that.

Massimo.

i am configuring the vm and it tries to put all muy vcenter hosts in manintenance mode? what is it doing? I have live running machines on these hosts, why is it trying to put all my esx hosts into maintenance?

Does that happen when you create the first Provider vDC and you try to "prepare" the hosts? Older releases installed an agent on the hosts that required it to reboot. I don't remember whether the later releases still required the reboot. That's the only thing I can think off.

We typically suggest to test it in a non production / pristine environment (morever if you are testing / playing with unsupported modules like CentOS I would say).

Its installing the vCloud agent, which is required on all hosts.

so all hosts in vcenter needs to be in maintenance mode first?

the vcloud vm will need to be managed by a difference vcenter?

You should separate vCloud resources (hosts in a cluster) and Mangament resources (host in another cluster).

Then the vCloud agent will only be installed on the vCloud cluster if you were using the same vcenter for both environments.

I recommend though having a separate vCenter for the vCloud resources.
