Can I use 2 Essentials licenses on the same host?

I have limited IT budget and just a single ESXi host to license.  But this host has 4 CPUs (18 cores per CPU).    Looks like Essentials will only let 2 of the CPUs operate, so can I apply 2 Essentials licenses to get all 4 CPUs running?   Otherwise, it seems that my options are to disable 2 of the CPUs, or 2 buy 4 Standard licenses + vCenter license (so about $5K vs. $700).  Wisdom appreciated!

I'm afraid that - as you already thought - you either need to remove two CPUs from the host, or use a higher edition.
