Cannot see virtual machine menu and cannot install VMware Tools

I created a CentOS VM on vSphere, but I don't see the virtual machine menu, and consequently cannot click Guest > Install/Upgrade VMware Tools.

Two questions:

  1. How can I see the virtual machine menu?
  2. Is there a way to install VMware Tools from an RPM/tarball on the Internet (I have another problem that I cannot activate the VM's CDROM device)?

Edit:
open-vm-tools-desktop and open-vm-tools RPMs are already installed on the VM.

Start here to do VM administration: https://vcenter_server_ip_address_or_fqdn/ui

You wouldn’t need to install VMware Tools if your guest OS already has open-vm-tools installed.

Should cut-and-paste work when only these open-source RPMs are installed?
