I'm working in an old ESX4.1 environment and have a task to migrate 2xS2008R2 SQL Cluster Node VMs to datastores on a new array. All of the data in the shared RDMs has already been migrated - outstanding task is to move the 2 cluster node VM's themselves. Reading has just left me confused. I think I have steps could need a sanity check or some help. My thoughts are
1: shut both VMs down
2: disconnect the RDMs - but keep/migrate the mapping/pointer file(s)?
3: move both VMs to the new storage
4: reconnect the RDMs using the existing pointer file
5: power up/test
What am I missing? Help appreciated.
