Is possible to Stage Changes to VM?

Hi,

We have quite a few VM's & for some reason hotswap memory has not been enabled through our automated process.

Is possible to stage changes to:

  • change these from Disabled to Enabled, but without forcing a restart?
  • so next time we do shutdown a VM it will be enabled?

Be nice if we can do this in a automated way also?

happy to read through docs, but could not find docs dicussing staging changes

Not all operating systems may support hot add memory. You can activate the hot add memory feature only when virtual machine power is off. Unfortunately there is no way to do this automatically. However, with powercli, a script can be written to close all virtual machines and then activate Hot add. But I do not know how useful this will be.
