We have a question regarding licensing the vCenter Server in an environment with both VDI and Server Workload.
We have a vCenter Server 8 Standard for Horizon Term License for the VDI environment. which runs on a few esxi hosts.
We'd like to know if we can register under the same vcenter another set of esxi hosts, with their vsphere licenses, which will run server workloads.
As per the following Q&A doc I found it seems that is not allowed.
Q. Can I run other server workloads on the vSphere
component included in Horizon editions?
A. The Horizon vSphere and VMware vCenter® components are
restricted to desktop infrastructure. Components that make up
the Horizon VDI include VMware View® Manager™, VMware
vCenter Server®, and any desktop management, performance
monitoring, and automation tools used solely for hosted
desktop virtual machines for RDS hosts.
