I have 8 internal disks that needs to be have its ports switch around to arrange the disks in certain physical order in the case. Will VMware ESXi identify the disks as the same volumes if its still attached to same controller but different port?
If you use each disk as a standalone datastore this should not matter.
If you use RAID-arrays with several disks assume, that not attaching the disks to their original ports destroys the raid-array.
