About a week or so ago, my VCSA appliance manager backups started failing... I had a few issues with the VCSA over the last week.. slow, hosts disconnecting ... its a VSAN and I had never bothered to separate my management VM traffic and my VSAN storage traffic. Finally got that done over the last two days and also had changed DNS servers on my network and hadn't updated the resolv.conf on the VCSA, so that wasn't helping either. Well, got all that fixed finally today and its running sweet, so thought backups would work now... kicked one off earlier today and it got to 37% and sat there. Left it... 2 hours later still at 37%. So cancelled it, and kicked off another. Gets to 37% quite quickly and then hangs again. Plenty of room on the ftp server. Haven't seen anything in google about this. Any ideas what might be wrong?
Regards
Bill
Left this running over the weekend and this morning my vcenter was down... restarted it, seems ok... tried the backup again and unchecked the backup stats (not really sure why I had checked that in the first place on this system) and backup completed in 1.5 minutes ... so solved that anyway.
Have the exact same issue but stuck at 52%, also have checked the backup stats. Removed and testing , lets hope it works
Unfortunately didnt work for me
I have met this issue too, my VCSA version is 6.7.0.14000, build number 9451876.
The VCSA server DB size is smaller then the backup job will easy to finished.
I had the same issue, vCentre backup through VAMI hanged for 9 hours. Vimtop showed an error for the autodeploy process:
After restarting the service, the backup finished successfully.
Thanks,
Jack
Thanks Jack - restarting the Autodeploy service allowed my hanging backup to complete immediately!
Thanks Jack! That did the trick for me as well.

Rob
My backups stop working every few days and I have to restart the Autodeploy service to get them working again, wondering if anyone else has run into that?
Thanks. Mine was getting stuck at 95%, and restarting the "Auto Deploy" service within vCenter Server Appliance - Services, then allowed success of the vCenter Server Appliance - Backup.
(I am using ftp://server:9921/VCSA as a weekly job)
