Where can i see that the depot is installed VMware-ESXi-7.0U3a-18825058-depot

i have download the file VMware-ESXi-7.0U3a-18825058-depot.zip and upload on my server, the i have sync the updates and the hcl.

But i can't see, if this sofware is correctly installed, not on ESXI, not on Vcenter!

Must we see the release number 18825058?

Ciao

you can connect  to the upgraded ESXi Host with SSH and use this command:

vmware -v

the output shows the ESXi version.

The output is: VMware ESXi 7.0.3 build 18644231

How to activate the new depot 18825058?

I have done:
1. Download local the depot
2. import updates on the vsphere client
3. Sync Updates
4. Sync HCL
After this i dont see the progress bar to 100%, but no actual version!

Ok, I misunderstood. I thought the update was done. Sorry.
So you've uploaded everything to the Life Cycle manager and need to upgrade.
You can follow these instructions:

VMware LifeCycle Manager import updates bundle and patch ESXi server | vGeek - Tales from real IT sy...

or you can install the updates bundle use the command line:

Upgrade VMware ESXi to 7.0 U3 via command line - ESX Virtualization (vladan.fr)

Thanks for the two links explaining how to patch a depot!

I had no problem with the shell as a long linux user.

But, i can import the update over the gui, why not beeing able to install over the gui.

After creating a new baseline, it is not possible to select the import depot update!

What is wrong?

If your lifecycle manager can download directly from the VMware repository you should already find the 7u3a in the Critial Host Patch Baseline

You should hook this baseline to the hosts, stage and then install
