increase a VMware disk with snapshot without deleting snapshots

Hello

I know it's not possible to increase a VMware disk with snapshot without deleting snapshots?

But question: Is it because of the hard disk setting? Or is it just not possible without deleting the snapshot?

Thanks

With or without an SDK? (based on where you created the thread)

It's because of the metadata structure, and size in the snapshots files. Increasing virtual disks with snapshots would require to reorganize the snapshot files. In addition to the metadata size, the VM's state (e.g. the .vmsn files) that gets captured at snapshot creation would likely need to be modified, which is close to impossible, because it could contain data that is related to given data blocks in the virtual disk file.
