newly added hard drive wants to be disk 0. Will this crash my server. 4 disk (1,2,3,4) already there

Hopefully someone can answer this for me.

I manage an sql server on vsphere and recently have a need to add an additional 800gb hard drive. I'm dong this in an attempt to backup an sql transaction log for a sccm database that has gotten out of hand and is past the shrinking point (maintenance jobs failing after another sys admin departed and he was the owner of the maintenance jobs). I'm an sccm admin trying to figure out sql and work through vsphere at the same time. The problem im running into is that when I attempt to add the drive, it wants to make it disk0. I'm worried this may break my server and prevent it from booting. Why is not making it disk 5. Everyone is gone for the day and I really need to get this database fixed. Is this normal to offer disk0 when there is already disk 1-4? Any help is appreciated.

vSphere Client version 6.7.0.45000

Thanks
