vmware workstation to vsphere

Hay guys,

I am trying to export a VM via vSphere and restore it back to the exsi host as a test. 

The original VM is running in Workstation and the admin gave me a copy of the VM (export). I managed to restore to vSphere and do the necessary updates and want to export and send the up-to-date VM back to an admin.

When I export and attempt to set up a new VM in vSphere I get the following error Unsupported and/or invalid disk type 22.  Is there a simpler way of doing this?

Check the VM hardware compatibility mode for your specific versions of Workstation and of ESXi: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1003746

There may be more about your VM hardware configuration which is causing the issue.
