I'm using the vsphere API (python, using pyVmomi) to check guest heartbeats. However, I'm getting different results when I check the ESXi host on which the guest is running vs. the VCSA for the cluster. My environment is a fully-patched 6.7.
When I get VM.summary.quickStats.guestHeartbeatStatus on ESXi, the status is "green". But when I check the same on VCSA, the status is gray.
I've cross-checked using the vSphere WebUI using the performance monitor; the guest is reporting 29-30 heartbeats/interval, just like any other guest. The "Vmware tools" text for the guest is "Running, version:11296 (Guest Managed)" (the guest is VMware's UAG)
Ideas on what to check?
