We've got a bizarre issue. To my knowledge this happens only on one of our ESX
servers, but on all the VM servers that are hosted by this ESX server. The ESX version is 3.0.2.
When a VM server is rebooted it happens. The VM server reboots. It is not
RDC-able until the Duplex setting on the network card is changed. This is
done by using the VI client to open a console, logon as the local admin and
make the change. Then "Ta Da" the server can be reached using RDC.
The guest OS on the VM servers is W2K3 standard.
Suggestions?
thx,
Dave
What were the duplex settings with the problem and then what are they after?
The "Full Duplex" setting was set to "Use adapter setting." It is now set to "AUI -Full Duplex." THe setting doesn't seem to matter. When ever the VM server is shutdown or rebooted the "Full Duplex" setting has to be changed and then you can RDC to the VM.
