ESX 3..0.2 and VMServer - Copying VMs between them

Hi There,

Is there an easy way to copy VMs between two servers - one running under ESX Server 3.x and the other under VMServer - for DR purposes.

I was wondering about the ability of ESX Ranger to do this as I have a licenced copy?

Was hoping you could point me in the right direction please?

ESX ranger is an excellent chioce, you could also user Converter enterprise as you are licensed for it. both will do the job.

Thanks for that Tom, As the VM is an Exchange Server I don't want any downtime on the production.

Do you know of a process I could follow to use ESX Ranger for the copying??

I can't seem to get ESX Ranger Pro to add the VM Server 1.0.4 as a host to restore to?

With Converter you can use the P2VTool utility to script this.

try with the ESX Convertor Enterprise you might have better luck
