ESX3.5 with update 1 - Dell OpenManage

Hi Guys,

I have over 100 VMs running on Del 6850 servers.... recently i re-installed from 3.5 to 3.5 update 1.... I went to install the OpenManage client onto an VM which existed prior to the upgrade and the OpenManage prerequisites check said that it was not a supported server and would not proceed. I have tried this now on mutiple machine with the same result.

What is the correct version on the OM client that can be installed on a win2003 sp2 VM in a 3.5update 1environment please?

Does anyone else have this issue?

I made a mistake with the version numbers... this has now been fixed...

I believe OpenManage is specific to hardware and should be installed on servers only not virtual machines

That is sort of true... but OM also offers many other things such as server details (audits more or less), disk space monitoring and alerting and heaps more... it is still beneficial to have it installed on a VM. : ) ....

The obvious guess is that there is a change within Update 1 which flags it as an unsupported system.... I wonder if Dell and VMware will work together to fix it?
