Hey guys
Hope this ends up in the correct location...
Got a ESXi 5.0 server running two virtual machines....( SBS 2012 and Win2008) Everything appears to be running like a dream but the customer has noted that “at times”, when they scan files to a shared network drive or download dictation files, the files may not appear to the user for 10 to 15minutes...? Most of the time these downloaded files appear instantly to all users. The “slow display” for want of a better description effects different users at different times...? There are no errors noted when the user downloads/scans the file, that procedure happens without issue it’s just in the shared network folder the files are missing in action for 10 to 15minutes....? A screen refresh doesn’t help either.
Anyone got any ideas what could be causing this effect.
Cheers
Mike
Welcome to the Community,
to me this looks like an issue with Windows itself. What you (your customer) may do is to check whether the files show up in the correct folder on the server itself in such a case. If they show up on the server then the next step would be to troubleshoot the share/requester settings (e.g. Offline Folder settings, ...).

It turned out to be a Win7 client issue. You read all about it at....

Customer added the following setting
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters]
"DirectoryCacheLifetime"=dword:00000000
Issue solved
Thanks
