Keyboard not working in ubuntu 10.4

i have a problem with Linux ubuntu 10.04. after i boot up, i tried to login, but the keyboard is not working. i tried everything in the options, but it did not work. any ideas and how can i fix it? i tried reinstalling the wmware tools, but theres a keyboard problem too.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

What version of Workstation are you using? 7.1 is the first release that supports Ubuntu 10.04.

If you are using the latest release, did you use the "Easy Install" feature to create this VM? There are known problems with the "Easy Install" and Ubuntu 10.04. Try rebuilding it.

Well, I'm using the latest version. At login prompt, my number pad is not showing up, I tried pressing the Num Lock, but the light did not appear. Then in terminal, as I tried to enter the password again, it did not show up in terminal ether.
