Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Failover Clusters

I have read VMware documents where the options to install Windows 2008R2 Failover cluster can be "in a box"  or "Ouside the box" .   there is another but I need to have both nodes virtual.

In the "outside the box" option, it states that the shared disk must be a FibreChannel disk.   Is that correct?  Can it be any other type?

It depends on the vSphere version you are using. FC was the only supported option until vSphere 5.1. With vSphere 5.5 support for iSCSI as well as FCoE has been introduced. see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2052238
