I'm current running a virtual machine for windows 95. I have everything set-up and all I need to do is get the sound to work. I've read here: VMware KB: Installing sound drivers in Windows 95 that I need to change the hardware compatibility to 5.x. I attempted this, but a window appears saying that Vm tools are not up to date. However, I have installed Vm tools multiple times now on my vm and this has not resolved the issue. There is no prompt for vm tools being out of date, and the install vm tools button has not changed to "update vm tools". In addition checking in the workstation under help > software updates tells me everything is up to date. I'm hoping someone might know what I need to resolve this issue. I'm brand new to using VMworkstation, and I hardly know what I'm doing.
