Hi,
I was just wondering can two VC server. One is standby move and one in active mode. Both of them can be running on VM. Just in case, one of my VC/OS crashes, I can use the second VC and get my environment up and running.
Has anyone done something like that? Any Ideas/suggestions are most welcome?
Thanks
it's designed for vCenter, in my opinion it's not worth it. Just make sure your DB is separate from your vCenter Instance and keep good backups.
you may want to take a look at VMware vCenter Server Heartbeat
...but to me, as long as you have a good backup of your DB, that is what is most important. Today, in my opinion the DB is the most important piece of vCenter.
One solution could be:
http://www.vmware.com/products/vcenter-server-heartbeat/
Or use a cluster with MCSE.

Is this product just for the VC service OR it can be used for some other app ? I did a quick google and saw it is very expensive. Not sure, if management will purchase.
Thanks
