ESX 5.1 and Windows Server 2012

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to install a fresh copy of Windows Server 2012 on my ESX 5.1 cluster.

I start configuring the virtual machine, using default (suggested) VMWare settings. Just tuned HDD space and ram.

Once the virtual machine starts, it keep ask for disk driver during Windows installation.

I  also tried to delete the VM and re-create using vmware paravirtual, and  the WIN2008 drivers bundled in vmware via virtual floppy, but with no  luck.

Someone can help me?

Yours,

That is strange, it should work with the default.

I have the scsi0.virtualDev = "lsisas1068" in my vmx file, and it works just fine.

Mine is

scsi0.virtualDev = "pvscsi"

Because I'm using VMWare paravirtual SCSI.

I'm also using the windows 2008 driver inside the floppy image when requested, but still no luck

Damn!

What version of Windows Server 2012 are you using? Is it the RTM release?

Did you try creating the VM with choosing the "Typical Settings", not using custom ... You can always change the disk and memory later.. ?
