Error: unable to access file <datastore> <file>

Hi,

We are doing ESXi5.0 server certification. for testing vMotion capability , we add storage to ESXi host via NFS . but while creating Virtual Machine in the Shared Storage from vCenter Server it it getting an error shown below .

Error: unable to access file <datastore> <file>

I also copied .vmdk file in the shared storage , but that fvirtual machine is not visible in datastore from vSphere Client.

i am attaching as screen shot. Couls any one help me How to create virtual machine in the shared storage???

Probably the NFS share is not having read/write access. You can import a rw nfs share and then try it.

This is definitely being caused on the NFS side. If read/write access is enabled under your NFS options also try mapping the root user with the following directive in your /etc/exports

-maproot=root:
