OK, guys and gals, does vCenter/ESX 4.x cluster support a mixed brain of AMD & Intel CPU's?
I have managed both individual servers and each in their own clusters but was never asked about mixing AMD & Intel servers in an ESX Cluster.
I am pretty sure it is not possible nor supported but I need to ask anyway. Please post a link supporting your statement.
Thanks
No.
An EVC-enabled cluster only allows CPUs from a single vendor in the
cluster. VirtualCenter and vCenter Server do not allow you to add a host
from a different vendor into an EVC-enabled cluster.

you cannot vMotion between AMD and Intel, there is no workaround. You need to seperate the clusters if you want vMotion.
Thanks for the answers guys. Points awarded.
