Password policy for current users

hello,

I have three vCenters clusters and  each cluster has 3 esxi hosts.

I would like to channge password policy (for vCenter and for Esxi hosts), this default is not compliant with our policy.

Question:

1. If I change password length and passsword age , will it have an impact on the current users created in vCenter (I mean for Administrator account and we have dedicated accounts created for other admins ) ? I mean, when user (for example Administrator) will try to login, system told him that wrong password or password don't meet policy etc.

Thanks

AFAIK, changing the password policy will have an impact on the current users in vCenter.

When a user tries to login, the system will check their password against the new policy. If it doesn't meet the new policy req, the user will be prompted to change their password.

Changing the password policy will not impact the current user. It will apply if you create a new user or change the password for the current user.

The exiting users are not affected. Applies only to new users or when the password is updated for current user.

Only new user applies new password policy , no impact exiting users.
