Pre-upgrade check failed due the following problem: Error in method invocation [SSL: SSLV3_ALERT_HAN

Hi,

I have installed a new VCSA 7.0.3 (21477706) to stage an upgrade to VMware 8.0.0 (21457384).

After stage 1, when starting stage 2 (Upgrade source vCenter Serve) I'm getting the following error:

Pre-upgrade check failed due the following problem: Error in method invocation [SSL: SSLV3_ALERT_HANDSHAKE_FAILURE] sslv3 alert handshake failure (_ssl.c:1076)

Couldn't find any article about it.

Any ideas?

@roynaim

The failed SSL connection to VC is caused by concurrent SSL handshakes intermittently failing, so it boils down the vCenter Certificate. Please verify if you current vCenter certificate is still valid and not expired, regenerate the vCenter Server SSL certificate if expired and then retry the pre-upgrade checks.

Hi,

I ended up installing using IPs instead of the FQDN and it worked, thanks.
