Running VMware Infrastructure Client v2.5.0 under reduced privileges

I am trying to run the VMware Infrastructure Client on a Windows XP computer (SP2) with .NET (Frameworks 2.0SP1 and 3.0SP1) with the user on the local PC having only 'Users' permissions.

I get the error 'Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation' when I click on the Console tab. I have found some information that indicates this is related to the .NET framework (). I have given the logged on user NTFS permission Modify to the program folder (c:\program files\VMware\*) without any success.

Does anyone know what is generating this error and how I can modify privileges on the system to allow the Infrastructure Client to run under reduced privileges?

The fix for this can be found in post:

Procedure in short is:

3. Regedit

4. HKEY_CURRENT_USER

5. Software

6. VMware

7. Delete both enteries

10. copy libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll from C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Virtual Infrastructure Client\2.5 to C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Virtual Infrastructure Client\Launcher.
