SQL server clone

Hi,

I have cloned SQL server but on the cloned vm it has taken same SQL server name and registry setting for SQL is showing the same name.

Is there a way to tackle this problem?

vm configuration is win2k8r2, sql2k8r2.(vSphere 4.1)

I'm a little confused, are you saying that the cloned machine has the same system information as the orginal? If so that is what is to be expected, the clone is exactly that a mirror copy of the orginal. All settings are carried over from the source machine.

If you want to then have both the orginal and clone up and running SQL then changes would have to be made manually to one of the SQL configs.
