Yes, Vmware 7 and 8.
My boss uses the old VMware Certificate Manager which is command line with SSH.
I found the one in the GUI is super simple, but he refuses to use anything but what He knows and instructed to do the research and write out how to do it that way. We have Vdi, and I am trying to drag him kicking screaming into using the Microsoft Optimization tool for better VDI performance.
He wants me to document his way, with research with no hands on, this is insane
"Vmware 7 and 8" doesn't tell us what product you are using. We need to know in order to move your post to the appropriate product forum, where hopefully someone will be able to help you.
I assume vCenter Server 7 and/or 8 from my question and the response.
Yes
This is basic of what I found,
Install Putty on laptop
Put FQDN of Vcenter appliance, Login as Root
Type shell hit enter
Type in /usr/lib/vmware-vmca/bin/certificate-manager
Choose choice 1, then No, then login with SSO ID administrator and password1
Choose choice 1: Generate Certificate Signing request and key for Machine SLL Certificate.
Then provide a path to a location to can send and retrieve from.
Yes,

I found the link, this is what I was looking for
VMware vCenter Replace Machine Certificate With Custom CA - Virtualblog.nl
It relates to vCenter, as far as installing and maintaining certs.
