VCenter Converter

This might be very simple, but i cant seem to figure it out. Can you run "Converter" from VCenter? There are "plug ins" of VConverter for "VCenter", right? All i can locate is the Stand Alone version. Can some on please help clarify this for me? Thanks...

If you are running vcenter you can enable the plugin an dimport machines.

If you haven't got vcenter you can install standalone converter and import you pServer.!

Can you run "Converter" from VCenter?

First install the Converter Enterprise (there is in the same media for vCenter Server) on the same server of vCenter.

Then, on the client side, install the relative plugin.

Now you will see on each ESX a import menu, and on each VM an export menu.

Also on vCenter task you can create a job to do a scheduled "conversion".

Thanks Andre. This is what I am looking for. I do need some more instruction. It is just not as intuitive for me as i would like. I have installed Converter form the Media, thanks! Not I am looking to create a task and i do not see that option while in "tasks". Also, what is the best way to deploy client. I now see that in the "plugins", but how do i get that installed on the target?

Thanks..

First be sure (from the VC server) that Converter service is running.

Then (from the client) go in plugin menu and install Converter plugin and wait until is enabled, then close the window.

Now in VC scheduled tasks (from the client) you must see the import or export task (when you create a new task).
