VI3 no longer provide vmkusage graph?

VMkusage graphs for ESX 2.5 is very useful for us, especially our on-call personnel, as it put all VMware hosts perfomance statistic on the same webpage that can allow us to view them anywhere.

Since we've upgraded to VI3, we no longer have these graphs. According to VMware support, they no longer have it and we have to login to vi client to view the statistic, hence too issue,

1. in VI client or VC, we no longer be able to see all the VMware host at the same page;

2. VI client port access is restricted to our domain, and cannot be access from off campus.

I am wondering if anyone have any workaround or any advise on how to reproduce these graph on the webpage for VI3 environment?

Thanks,

Bosco

If you search for vmkusage under the 3.x forums you will find quite a few references but there doesn't seem to be a similar tool at this point. There are always third party apps like ESXCharter or similar.

To help answer your questions, yes, vmkusage is no longer in VI3. You have to use the VI client.

As far as your connectivity issues, do you have any other means of connecting that is not restricted.

1. Can you use RDP to remote desktop to a workstation or server with VIC installed?

2. Can you use a VPN to connect to the remote network?

3. Is SSH, port 22, not restricted? If so you can use port tunneling to connect VIC on the other network.
