Want to make VC NIC Redundant

I want to make my VC NIC Redundant. My VC is a physical server and I have two switches to use to make it redundant. Can someone tell me how to have each NIC connected to different switches and have the standby NIC take over when the primary NIC fails?

Do you have NIC teaming setup on your phsyical server?

How many NIC's are you working with?

I am not using NIC Teaming at this point. I'm just looking at the options.

My VC currently has one dual port NIC so that would be a weak point for now. I may be adding a second NIC down the road.

is this dual port NIC the onboards? I still think teaming is your answer

The manufacturer of the NIC sometimes supplies NIC teaming software as part of their s/w tools. What make are they and how many?

Check this out about teaming:

Yes my dual port NICs are onboard.

The NICs are HP NC7782.

You need to download the appropriate drivers/software from this link

Configure nic teaming and then enable portgroup (I think thats the term for cisco switches) for a redundant connection
