Hi,
Is it recommanded to schedule this 2 operations each week end on ESX servers :
1) Enter in maintenance mode an esx, VM are relocated on other ESX.
2) Shutdown -r on the ESX
On most systems, it is recommanded to do that ( to free memory, etc ... ).
Is it recommanded to do that on ESX Vmware ?
Who as already do that with scripts or other program ?
How to do that ? ( my site as VC, 12 ESX ).
Thanks for advices, ideas.
I think you have been using too many Windows boxes!!!
It is unnecessary to reboot ESX hosts on a regular basis; the only time I reboot hosts is when I apply an ESX update that requires doing so.

I would agree, we never reboot our est hosts unless as said required by an update or if required in our data center ( maybe a scheduled power outage or something like that ).
