Win 2008 R2 Customization fails

Hi all,

After I run customization on a VM with Win 2008 R2 guest OS, customization fails with "The computer restarted unexpectedly..." on "setup is preparing your computer for first use" screen. Same error is thrown when I restart the VM.

- Guest operating system of the VM is set to "Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)"

- vCenter version is 4.1.0

- VM hardware version is 7

- Host server is ESX 4.1.0

- We are using sysprep.inf file to do customization and using VI Web Services SDK to connect to vCenter.

- VMware tools version installed on the VM is 8.3.7.3827

Does anyone have an idea what might be going wrong? Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the community.

Why your are using a custom sysprep config file?

vCenter can hadle sysprep operation in the right with the customizator wizard.

Thanks Smiley Happy

We are doing all management tasks thru Web Services SDK. Are there known issues about using sysprep files?

I never hear of similar problem, but I do not use so much the SDK.

I suggest to open a thread in the automation area.

Let me update the thread.

Apparently the  credentials we used to add the computer to domain weren't correct.
