how to backup my VC Database(MS SQL 2005)

my VC use default MS SQL 2005 database, i want to backup the database before i upgrade it. anybody know how to do this? thanks in advance.

Hi,

You should have a copy of SQL studio tools installed somewhere.

I'm guessing you dont which is why you are having this problem as its not installed by default., It comes on a seperate CD.

Once you install the managment tools you can open the GUI and right click on your VC and chose backup.

Failing that you could stop your virtual center server service and just copy db files.

you need first to download the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express:

When done, you can do a back-up of your VIM dB from the Graphical interface....
