dear all
Hi
i have a qurstion about database for vr is that need install external database or can use from embeded database ?
foe how many vms have to use external database?
BR
I assume VR 6.x? If yes, use the embedded. Much easier and supports max number of VMs supported by VR itself, e.g., 2000 VMs with VR 6.1 and 6.5.
so thanks
my means is vr 6.5 and with embeded database can run vr on 2000 vms?
Yes, you can protect up to 2000 VMs with VR 6.5. Embedded database is fine. See this KB article:
Operational Limits for vSphere Replication 6.x (2102453) | VMware KB
thanks but i want to know
how many vm can protect with vr with embeded database ?
and how many can protect with vr external database ?
my means is support number of vm with embeded and external d
You can protect up to 2000 VMs with either database.
Both embedded and external dbs support the full scale of vR.
so thanks
i know both of them support full scale of vR but i want know what is differents between embeded and external database ?
i think each of them support specific number of vm protected with VR now my main question is how many vms can protect with embeded db and how many vm can protect with external db ?
BR
The difference with using an embedded vs external db is that an external db adds additional complexity/dependencies and offers the ability to use a DB that you the customer are more comfortable with. My recommendation is to use the embedded db.
As we have both said, the embedded db and external db support the exact same number of replicated VMs, which is the full scale of VR. I'm not sure how to make this any clearer.
