I justp upgraded our ESXi environment from 5.0 to 5.1 and noticed during the host upgrade that after completion a banner stated that the upgrade was successful using a trial license and that I needed to assign license again.
One notable thing is that in vSphere desktop Licensing is showing no option to assign only to manage the license. The license is set to never expire. That being said if I use the new Web Client there is an option to assign to the hosts.
Before I randomly do this has anyone else experienced this same issue and would I be correct in thinking that due to the new single sign on and web client, this is the reason for the re-assignment?
