Hi,
yesterday i've upgraded vCenter 5.0 to vCenter 5.1.0a. i've done everything (i think!) as it was written in vsphere-esxi-vcenter-server-51-upgrade-guide.pdf. But when i've logged to web-client (https://vcenter:9443/vsphere-client) i can't see my vcenter server. So i've logged to localhost:9443 to register my vCenter and i can see that it's registered. So what is the problem, why i don't see it in web-client?
Best Regards,

Login to vCenter using the vSphere Client.
Right click at the top level and Add Permissions > Add in Domain Admins or whatever AD Group you use for vCenter.
Then login to the Web Client using domain\user and you should see vCenter.
Hi,
Welcome to the community!
What user did you use to log into vSphere client?
What if you log in with the admin@System-Domain user?
Hi,
i've logged as my user (when first logged to web-client i added my ad domain and then added in group __Administrators__ my user (from AD DS)).
when i'm logging to web client with admin@System-Domain i can't see my vCenter server - exactly the same situation.

Is vCenter installed on Windows or are you using the appliance?
Did you put your domain in the first spot in SSO?
Hi,
I'm not using appliance. everything is installed on the same windows server 2008 r2. vCenter (and SSO and so on).
In SSO Discovery -> Configuration i've added my AD domain and in "Defaults Domains" my AD domain is first, second is VCENTER1 (the same as Windows Server 2008R2 hostname and third is System-Domain.

Hi,
Can you explain me where do i need to right click? After i log (as admin@System-Domain) to web client i'm clicking on Home, vCenter, Rules and Profiles (and so on) and nothing appears.

You need to login using the normal vSphere Client to asign permissions NOT the Web Client.
Sorry, don't know why i'm focused on web client... And that's why totally forgot about permissions from client...
Thank you very much, it's working!
Best regards,

No problem, glad I could help.
