Hypervisor crashes after Update ESX 5.0 U 2 1117897 with PF Exception 14 on HP Proliant DL380 G5

Hello,

I've tried to upgrade one of my three esxi5 hosts with the updates ESX500...201303... and ESX500...201305... .

For both updates the server crashes after reboot with crash report

#PF Exception 14 in world 2610 : jumpstart IP 0x70000001 addr 0x7000001

...

If I power of the machine the hosts starts normally again but wiht the old version 914586.

After getting that error I stopped deploing the Updates on my ohter hosts.

What is cauing of this error. Is it due to a hardware fault?

The ILO and the sensor- view in the vSphere- Client showing no errror or hardware problem.

Indeed might be caused by both but as you said yourself if things are working in the previous version probably not. Just checking

did you try using the HP customized ISO ?

No I didn't use that update source. I used the standard installation, downloaded all driver updates from HP Proliant's download site and applied them.

Now I download the HP customized one and will try to apply it.

Do you know if there is a customized version for all patches? Where can I get them?
