no esx and cluster after upgrade vcenter 4.0 to 4.1

Hi,

I just upgraded my vcenter server (4.0) to a new server (4.1) with new ip and new hostname. I used the datamigration tool and there is no error in the log of the backup and the restore.

All the service start but when i log in with the new client, i see only the vcenter server and nothing under

Have you an idea ?

no, but i used this kb for the backup of the database

I finish the guide for migration to vcenter 4.1 but i not migrate the server esx. Even if the server were in 4.0, normaly i can always see them in vcenter 4.1 ?

The new server work fine but i can't see my servers esx.

Hi,

Something happened with the migration process, because appears vCenter is using a blank database.

You have to repeat the migration process using the KB 1024380, according to Troy recommendation.

If the KB doesn't work, you can try make the migration without Data Migration Tool.

From the Upgrade Guide, check out the chapter 5 (Upgrade to vCenter Server on a

Different Machine and Upgrade the Existing Database), on the page 33.

also, look at the KB article again.  You can make the registry changes even post migration.
