I wanted to know the Difference between Standard Switch and Virtual Distributed Switches.What are the advantages (features)of moving or migrating from Standard Switches to Virtual Distributed Switches.Any help on this will much appreciated.

Besides a lot of interesting new features (private vlans, mirror ports, lldp and more) the best thing might be more easy administration if using many hosts. Every portgroup change will be replicated to all hosts and you will only need to do configuration changes once.
(Note that this is a Enterprise Plus feature only.)

Netflow is a really nice feature to have with vDS switches.
otherwise, the Distributed switch means less configuration on each ESXi host.

But if you have the Enterprise Plus license, and you don't use the benefits from vDS you can setup an standard vS with Host Profiles just as easy.
