Migrate from VDS external switch tagging to Virtual switch tagging?

Hi Dears

How can we Migrate from VDS External switch tagging(EST) to Virtual switch tagging(VST)?

Switchports connecting to the hosts will need to be changed from access mode to trunk, passing all the VLANs you require to the hosts.  Then on the vSS or vDS, you must configure postgroups and when doing so, tag them with the appropriate VLAN.

Hi shank99

Thank you. because my mgmt. and VM traffic pass from same port group if I change physical switch port to trunk first or change port group vlan id first I lose connection to vCenter and Hosts

Hmmm, how many NICs do the hosts have and how many are being utilized ?

So you could attempt to do a side by side vds solution and migrate things over and then bring over the nics.  That's if you want as less downtime as possible.  Otherwise may have to look into what you are tagging and potentially the use of native VLANs.. but either way you will drop some packets here or there.
