Is it possible with vDP to restore a virtual machine to an other datastore than the original datastore? So i can use the virtual machine within a testing environment?

It is very much possible. While restore UNCHECK 'Restore to original location' and select the new datastore to restore.

Thanks for the quick response Suresh. Will inform the customer that he can create a testing environment with these steps.
