My first question is, what version of vCenter are you trying to install?

My second question is why on earth do you want to install vCenter on a 20 year old OS ? Are you trying to break some kind of record 😂

PS you may get more focused help if you add a reference to vCenter on Windows 2003 in your subject title 😉

Does that mean you want to install vSphere 5?

The real question is why would you want to want to use such old versions?

I am downloading Vcenter from  VMware download site.

my customer has custom software program on it

When confirming the version, you then mentioned vCenter Converter which is a completely different product.

Maybe if you explain what it is you're trying to do, it will be clearer. Are you trying to convert a physical 2003 server to a virtual machine?

Got it, so you're trying to use VMware converter to P2V a Windows 2003 server. We got there in the end 😊

The next question is what issue or errors are you seeing? Its been a long time since i've done anything with Server 2003, but i'm sure it P2V'd just fine back in the day with previous versions of VMware converter.

That said, in all seriousness,  is there not an opportunity to build a new VM on a supported version of Windows and ditch this server?    From a Cyber Security perspective, You really shouldn't be running servers with 20 year old Operating System's, unless you have no choice. I know it can happen, but its quite unusual, unless its running software or hardware that will only work on Server 2003?  In which case I hope its either off the network, or heavily isolated 👍
