2 vSpheres can't ping each other which are built on vSphere.

On host A which is vSpere 4.0, built up two hosts which are vSpheres 4.0 with vSwitch. Each can ping itself, but can't ping each other, also, can't ping host A. After the two hosts are moved to dvSwich, got some result. But, other VM on the dvSwitch is fine.

By the way, I need to practise vHA and vmotion. So, I need two some configurating hosts for it. Therefore, I built up two hosts on host A.

How can I fix it?

Thanks!

George

George,

you need to set Promiscuous Mode to Accept on the hosts's vSwitch (Properties --> Security).

Sounds to me that you have a gateway or subnet related issue. What is the IP information set for each host?
